The Irish Patchwork Society and The Northern Ireland Patchwork Guild present:

Official Opening Tuesday 16th May 2017 in CHQ Custom House Quarter, IFSC, Custom House Quay, Dublin Northside, Dublin
Exhibition will run until the 26th May
Northern venue is Lisburn Arts Centre, June 2017

Exhibition Rules and Conditions;

All Irish Patchwork Society and Northern Ireland Patchwork Guild Members are eligible to enter
1.    The quilt must consist of a minimum of two layers, although any technique may be       used.
2.    Size: quilts can be made to a maximum of 1 meter square.
3.    The quilt has a free choice of edging treatments.
4.    No glass fronted, framed, mounted quilts or quilts made from kits will be allowed.
5.    The work should have been completed in the last two years.
6.    The quilt must have a 10 cm (4 inch) hanging sleeve, (with sufficient fullness to accommodate the hanging rod).
7.    Please ensure that your quilt is labelled on the back at the bottom edge with the following information:    Name of the Quilt, Name of Quilter, Postal Address.
8.    The quilt should not have been exhibited prior to submission to this exhibition.
9.    Quilts made by more than one person at any stage of construction should identify all of those involved.
10.    Quilts are not for sale during the exhibition.
11.    This is a juried exhibiition. The judging panel’s decision will be final.
12.    The quilts are covered by the IPS insurance once the quilt is received by the hosting branch.
13.    By entering your quilt you agree to have it photographed for publicity purposes and the catalogue of the exhibition.
14.    Each quilt must have its own bag labelled with both the name of the quilt, the name of the maker and your branch.
15.    Quilts will be released at the end of the exhibition period and not before that time.
16.    Deadline for quilts to be received is the 31st March 2017. No late entries will be accepted due to cataloguing and photographing of quilts.

Hands Across the Border 2015 - Reflections
 
A joint exhibition between the
Northern Ireland Patchwork Guild & Irish Patchwork Society

City Hall Belfast

Official opening at 12 noon - Tuesday 5th May. Opening by Valerie Wilson (Textile Curator at Cultra Folk and Transport Museum). 
The exhibition in City Hall runs from the 5th May to 28th May.

The exhibition will be in 2 parts

Part I from 5th May to 15th May. Part I will be half the NIPG quilts and those from IPS Western and Eastern Branches.

Part II from 16th May to 28th May. Part II  will be the other half of the NIPG Quilts and all the other IPS branches.
 

All the quilts will be on exhibition in the Botanic Gardens in Dublin during the month of July.

Hands Across the Border Exhibition 2015

The Hands Across the Border Exhibition is a joint Irish Patchwork Society and Northern Ireland Patchwork Guild Biennial Exhibition.

The exhibition will open in the magnificent Belfast City Hall in May. It will then be on display in the Botanic Gardens, Dublin for the month of July.

The theme for this exhibition is "REFLECTIONS".
Quilt can be no larger than 1 metre square

Quilts must be with the organisers by 31st March 2015 (further details to follow).
  • All Irish Patchwork Society and Northern Ireland Patchwork Guild members are eligible to enter this exhibition. 
  • The quilt must consist of 2 layers.
  • Any technique or combination of techniques may be used in the making of the quilt.
  • The quilt must have been completed within the last two years.
  • A quilt made by more than one person must list all names.
  • A hanging sleeve must be securely stitched to the top back of the quilt. A label must also be stitched to the quilt back.
  • No glass fronted or mounted work will be accepted.
  • Entries will be photographed and may be used for a possible catalogue and or publicity purposes.

Hands Across the Border Exhibition

The Hands Across the Border Exhibition is now on exhibit at the Visitors Centre, Phoenix Park, Dublin.
The exhibition opened 2nd September and it will be on display until the 30th September.

The theme of this exhibit is "Dreamcatcher". This is a bi-annual joint exhibition between the Irish Patchwork Society and the Northern Ireland Patchwork Guild.

To get to the Visitors Centre:

Location

4km from centre of Dublin in the Phoenix Park, signposted from the Phoenix Monument.

Bus Routes:
Bus 37, 38, 39 and 70 from Hawkins Street to the Halfway House Roundabout on Navan Road. Enter the park by the Ashtown Gate, walk approximately 190 metres to the T-junction and turn left, walk for about 10 mins until you reach the building on your left, the pathway on the right-hand side leads you towards the trees and the back gate of Ashtown Castle.

Train: Dublin Connolly to Ashtown Station.

The Northern Ireland Patchwork Guild have now put up the Hands Across the Border exhibition photos up on our website.

Hands Across the Border Deadline

All Branch members please note that quilts for Hands across the Border must be in Dublin (at Miriam Gogarty's house) by December 17th which is the FINAL DATE.

You can contact an executive committee member to get Miriam's postal address.


Quilts for the Mid-west branch will be collected at their Christmas meeting (Dec 10th)
